arielmn at 08:38pm on 17/05/2007The night after I posted last about birds, I heard the nighthawks and catbirds. They must have traveled together. :) I think all the summer birds are here now. Feeders are swamped with purple, gold and house finches.
Spouse and I sat in the backyard last weekend in the dark and watched a couple of bats drive bomb us in search of bugs. It was a bit unnerving...Bats are ok but not in the house!
Oak is struggling along.
Hoping for some rain and everything is looking dry. Nothing will sprout this Spring if we don't get some rain soon.
Spouse is in Pennsylvania this weekend for a banjo rally. He has been playing for a couple of years and this is the organization his grandfather helped along. He is looking to record some of the classical banjo playing that was very popular at the turn of the 20th century before all the folks who know how to play that style are gone. Maybe this can be another documentary.
